Mark Leuba is a technology leader in education, with particular expertise in online higher education. He leads IMS Global Learning Consortium’s portfolio of technical standards and programs that are pioneering new ways to connect learners to employment opportunities. Mark is active in the Connecting Credentials initiative, the Credentials Engine, and led TIP: the Technical Interoperability Pilot project for the Competency-Based Education Network (C-BEN), a major research project published in the Educause Review. Prior to IMS, he held several positions as a technology executive in the education industry. Mark received his B.A. in Business Administration/Finance from the University of Baltimore. As VP of Design & Innovation Learning Objects – a Cengage Company, Deborah Everhart is focused on product strategy and design. Dr. Everhart’s experience in education and technology sectors includes serving as Associate Vice President at Blackboard, Strategic Advisor for the American Council on Education, and numerous positions at Georgetown University. Deborah is currently a contributing member of the IMS Global working groups defining standards for competency-based education, comprehensive learner records, and digital credentials. She chaired the Badge Alliance working group that defined a conceptual framework and technical standards for badge endorsements. Deborah writes and presents extensively on emerging technologies, portfolios, learning engagement, badges and other digital credentials, competency-based learning, and the future of learning and teaching.
